Facilitation Services

One Future has trained, independent facilitators to help family members to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and make decisions together. We help family members to identify and express their needs and concerns, and to actively listen to one another.

Family Group Conferencing

Family group conferencing (FGC) is a collaborative approach to decision-making that empowers families and communities to take an active role in the care and protection of their children. The process is based on the belief that families are best placed to make decisions about the care of their children and that involving families in decision-making can lead to better outcomes for children.

Pregnancy Family Conferencing

Pregnancy Family Conferencing (PFC) aims to promote the health and wellbeing of a pregnant woman and her unborn child by engaging her family and community in the decision-making process and developing a plan that addresses child protection concerns. It is an effective approach that can help to address the complex challenges faced by families and to promote positive outcomes for both mother and baby.

Family Mediation

Family mediation is a process in which a mediator assists family members in resolving conflicts and reaching mutually acceptable agreements. Mediation can be used to address a wide range of family-related issues, including divorce, separation, child custody and access, division of property, and disputes between parents and their adult children.

Parent/Carer Training

Our parent and carer training service is designed to help parents and carers navigate the challenges of caring for children who have experienced trauma and to support healthy attachments and positive relationships. Our carer training follows the Shared Lives model and parent training can include Bringing Up Great Kids and Circle of Security. Training can be tailored to suit an agency's needs and delivered face to face or virtually.

What is Family Faciliation?

Family facilitation is a process in which a trained facilitator helps family members to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and make decisions together. The facilitator helps family members to identify and express their needs and concerns, and to listen actively to one another. Family facilitation is often used in situations where there are complex family dynamics, for example where a child or young person who is at risk of harm, or has been removed from their home.

The goal of family facilitation is to help families to work together in a constructive and respectful manner, and to find solutions that are mutually beneficial. The facilitator may use a variety of techniques and strategies, such as mediation, negotiation, and conflict resolution, to help family members communicate effectively and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise.

Family facilitation can be an effective way to improve communication and relationships within a family, and to help family members work together towards a common goal. It can also be a valuable tool for families who are going through a difficult time that need to come together with an independent facilitator.
